If you're a Southwest Gas residential customer and meet certain income guidelines, you may qualify for assistance in paying your bills.

Disconnection of service for non-payment has resumed. If you’re experiencing financial hardship, payment assistance may be available through the Federal CARES Act by calling 2-1-1, selecting option 1, then option 9. For information on payment assistance programs or flexible payment options, please reach out to a Southwest Gas representative at 877-860-6020.

California Emergency Rent and Utility Bill Assistance Relief

Income-eligible households who have been financially impacted due to COVID-19 may qualify for funding to help pay for rent and utilities. This program is available to both renters and landlords.
 
 

Energy Savings Assistance Program

Whether you own or rent your residence, the Energy Savings Assistance (ESA) program is a great way to increase the energy efficiency of your home. It provides income-qualified customers with money-saving improvements at no cost.
 

California Alternate Rates for Energy (CARE) Program

If you have recently lost your job, even if you are receiving unemployment benefits, you may qualify for a reduced energy rate through our CARE Program.
 
The CARE Program provides a discount on monthly gas bills to income-qualified customers at their primary residence. CARE eligibility is determined by the total gross household income and number of people living in the residence. 
 

California Medical Baseline Allowance

This program is only available to California customers of Southwest Gas who are full-time residents of the household.
 
 

Installment Plan

If you have outstanding bills, our Installment Plan allows you to pay your bill over an extended period of time. This program gives you an opportunity to obtain assistance before service is discontinued. We also make referrals to government or local social service agencies.

Energy Share Program

An emergency fund which provides direct utility assistance to qualified customers with unexpected financial difficulties. Your tax-deductible Energy Share donations are completely managed and distributed by your local energy share assistance agency.

The California Emergency Disaster Relief Program (EDRP) are customer protections mandated by the California Public Utilities Commission that are designed to help our California customers during a declared emergency.

Special Services

Language Interpretation
To assist our non-English speaking customers, our Customer Assistance agents have a language interpretation service available to translate in several languages.

Services for the Hearing Impaired
Our hearing impaired customers may contact Southwest Gas by calling the relay service at 711. Please provide the relay operator with the Customer Assistance Number, which is located at the top of your Southwest Gas Bill.

Third Party Notification

Third Party Notification Image
Allows a friend or relative to be notified in case of a delinquent bill. While the third party is not obligated to pay the bill, they can often help resolve the problem before service is discontinued.
 

Medically Fragile Household

Medically Fragile
If you or someone in your household has a qualifying medical condition, you may be eligible for priority natural gas service restoration if there is an interruption in your service due to an outage.
