This program is a short-term aid for low-income Southwest Gas customers who are facing a hardship or find themselves in a crisis. A hardship or crisis is defined as:

  • Those at risk of endangering their health by not utilizing necessary appliances, such as furnaces and water heaters
  • A sudden loss of income
  • An unexpected expense that results in the inability to pay, such as a medical expense

Qualified customers must meet the household income requirements as noted below.

The Arizona Smarter Greener Better® Low-Income Energy Conservation Program provides free audits, conservation education and comprehensive money-saving home improvements that increase energy efficiency and safety in the homes of low-income customers.

The Arizona Home Energy Assistance Fund

The Home Energy Assistance Fund is a self-sustaining non-profit energy assistance program. The program is administered through Community Action Agencies statewide and provides utility assistance, job training, tax preparation and assistance with food, shelter, clothing, and financial education.
